Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a parenting education program run through the school district designed to support families with young children from birth to kindergarten entry. ECFE recognizes that parents are a child's first and most important teachers, and aims to equip parents with the knowledge and skills to foster their child's learning and development.
Traditional values, visionary people, and modern facilities are a part of early childhood education at Lanesboro Public Schools.
Who can come to ECFE? All moms and/or dads and their kids from infancy to kindergarten are welcome.
When and where are classes? ECFE currently meets Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Community Center (or Sylvan Park weather permitting) and Fridays from 9:30 am to 11:00 pm at Eagle Bluff Education Center about 8 min. north of Lanesboro. The Friday group meets in the parking lot of the Schroeder Building at Eagle Bluff.
What to expect from classes: Loosely structured classes leave a lot of room for curiosity, discovery and community. Expect a storytime every class and bringing snacks and a water bottle for your child is encouraged.
What to expect from big events: ECFE community events are promoted regularly through posters, school flyers, and Facebook. Past events include the ECFE Egg Hunt, Winter Wonderland, Halloween Haunted Hallway, and Touch A Truck. All events are FREE. Email ecfe@lanesboroschools.com to join our email list.
ECFE Teachers: Pre-school teacher Alayna Sobieniak leads the weekly classes while organizer Rachel Kuhnle leads the community events. Both Alayna and Rachel are moms with ECFE aged children.
Contact: Write ecfe@lanesboroschools.com with any questions or to join us for our weekly meet-ups or community events.
